Soft Washing in Leicester

Soft washing uses low-pressure water and cleaning solutions rather than force. It suits render, cladding, delicate roofs and other surfaces where a pressure washer would do more harm than good.

When soft washing is the right choice

  • Rendered and painted walls
  • Cladding and panelling
  • Roofs and other delicate surfaces
  • Anywhere staining is biological — green or black growth rather than ground-in dirt

What to expect

Results are not always instant on biological growth; some staining continues to fade after treatment. We will explain what to expect for your surface before we start.

Questions

Your soft washing questions, answered

Pressure washing relies on high-pressure water to physically remove dirt, which suits hard surfaces like paving. Soft washing uses low pressure together with cleaning solutions, so the solution does the work rather than force. It's used on surfaces that pressure washing could damage.

Soft washing is generally the approach used for render, cladding and painted walls, because high pressure can damage them. Suitability still depends on the material and its condition — cracked render or flaking paint needs care — so we look at the surface before recommending it.

It varies. Walls in shaded, damp or tree-lined spots tend to see growth return sooner than sunny, exposed ones. Biological staining can also keep fading for a while after treatment, so the finish may improve after the day itself. We won't promise a fixed period.

Soft washing is designed for biological growth such as green algae and black staining. Results aren't always instant, and some marks continue to fade after treatment. Staining that isn't biological, such as rust or paint, may not respond in the same way.
